Description Introducing the Stormtration™ HuskyGuard® Stormwater Filter – an Innovative Storm Drain Insert At HalenHardy, we strive to find solutions to customer problems. Our Stormtration™ HuskyGuard® Storm Drain Insert System is our newest product, born from customer-expressed frustrations. We take customer feedback seriously and use it in the design of our products. Our customers had the following problems with their existing storm drain inserts: did not effectively filter oily sheens would easily fall into the storm drain high safety risk because they were too heavy to remove (when full of sediment) quickly “blinded over” with sediment, causing water to pool could not install above existing storm basin filter cartridges, or the expensive cartridges were prematurely clogging We developed the Stormtration™ HuskyGuard® Storm Drain Insert System to provide our customers with the best solution to prevent stormwater pollution. After numerous real-world uses, HuskyGuard® has proven its value by meeting our customers’ Best Management Practices (BMPs) requirements, extending the life of expensive, existing cartridges, and being easy to remove and maintain. Stormtration™ HuskyGuard® Key Attributes: Heavy-duty fiberglass reinforced plastic grating holds the HuskyGuard® Filter in place Won’t corrode or rust while being strong enough to hold the weight of the filter, and all the sediment Spilltration® Husky filtration layer for removing oils, fuels, sheens, and sediments Raised center for capturing debris during higher flow situations The overflow port prevents water from backing up in a heavy rain event As Easy As 1-2-3: Fast, Easy Inspection & Maintenance in High Traffic Areas In high-traffic areas, above-grate solutions aren’t practical. But that doesn’t mean that you’re doomed to a life of fishing stinky, messy drain insert bags from the bottom of your storm drain catch basins or calling in expensive vac trucks to suck out sediment and trash. Stormtration™ HuskyGuard® Below-Drain Filters save you hours while keeping your maintenance crew clean and dry. STEP 1 Install L-Channel brackets STEP 2 Install pre-cut fiberglass grating STEP 3 Install HuskyGuard® Filter and replace storm grate The under-grate filters initially take about 30 minutes to install. The frame attaches to the walls of the storm grate with an electric drill. This frame supports a fiberglass grate that stays in place and holds a replaceable absorbent and filtration media just below the storm grate. Because dirt and debris accumulate less than two inches from the top of the storm grate, it can be swept or vacuumed with a standard wet/dry vacuum at regular housekeeping intervals. There is no need to remove and replace the grate each time. The only time you need to lift the grate is to see if the absorbent media has become saturated with oil. (We recommend quarterly checks.) Even though the grate must be lifted for these inspections, there’s no risk of the absorbent falling to the bottom – which means the whole process takes less than five minutes.
